The Portfolio Innovation Centre, is an exciting home for new and emerging design, digital and creative industries throughout Northamptonshire.
Established at The University of Northampton, the Portfolio Centre offers new and existing companies a supportive and friendly environment. Its residents thrive in a creative environment and can also network with different skills and services available at hand.
The Brief
1: Create a stimulating and dynamic website design to showcase their professional services available at the centre.
2: Develop and build an 3d interactive floor plan so potential new clients can see rooms available.
Our Solution
Being asked to create a bespoke site and have free reign over graphics, layouts and interactive elements is the pinnacle of creative web design. Couple that with an industry known for custom body kits, high performance exhausts ad some wheel rims to make your wallet bleed it was a great project to take the driving seat on. (sorry had to be done!!) Introducing BodyMek to both Flash and HTML authoring environments for web publishing they seemed set on taking advantage of Adobe Flash’s dynamic interface and interaction along with some of its tasty back end integration for dynamic galleries and custom content.
The final site design (and a few recent face lifts) features a crisp layout and a tight, clean graphical style tied together with subtle section transitions and custom pre-loaders, providing a fluid movement through the site content. We wanted the sections to appear effortless and smooth whilst offering an overall feeling of performance, much like a luxury car. Definitely worthy of a test drive!! (Ok no more lame pun’s I promise!)
An early project for SorbetMedia.com but one we’re still very proud of. Showing that flash web design doesn’t have to be littered with music, animation and newfangled whirligigs!
